The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA<.>) has been selected for the second year in a row to be part of the prestigious International Buyer Program (IBP). Directed by the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), the IBP brings U.S. companies together with international buyers from all around the world. The program helps match exhibitor products with clients for international trade, and only a few U.S. associations are selected to be represented by this program.

All of the overseas participants will receive information about IAAPA 2001 to keep abreast of the most up-to-date topics within the amusement park and attractions industries. The Commerce staff will plan and accompany trade delegations to the annual trade show in Orlando, Florida, November 14 – 17, to purchase good and services.

We are honored to be a part of this prominent program, said John Graff, CEO of IAAPA.

Due to the intricate matching system that is utilized by the Department of

Commerce, the exchange of information is exceptional for all parties. The matching system is a state-of-the-art process that contains information matching appropriate product, country and type of business. This system allows both the exhibitor and international representatives seeking new suppliers to be partnered with the appropriate person/company.

IAAPA works closely with the Department of Commerce to ensure that all involved in the program receive timely information on the annual convention and trade show. The DOC also provides on-site international trade experts throughout the show to assist with any questions and training.

At the end of the show, the information that is gathered from the overseas representatives is then disseminated to all U.S. exhibitors, indicating any future interest in international business.
