Charter traffic was not affected by the crash of the Flash Airlines plane that plunged into the Red Sea on Saturday, said a Civil Aviation source on Sunday.

He said no cancellations were reported, adding that everything was normal as it was before the crash.

Also, Rashed Refai, a director at EgyptAir, said no cancellations were made on flights between Cairo and Paris after the crash.

He added that a Boeing 777 left Cairo Airport earlier in the day for Paris, carrying 320 passengers on board as scheduled.

He said the national carrier runs six flights between Cairo and Paris every week.

Flights to Sharm el-Sheikh also continue despite accident

Flights between Paris and Sharm el-Sheikh have continued as usual with French air companies resuming their flights, despite air crash near the Red Sea resort city, Egyptian Tourism Attache Mrs. Nahed Rizq said.

Mrs. Rizq added that the accident in which 148 people had lost their lives had not resulted in any cancellation of flights from France to Egypt.

Officials at Egypt Air`s offices in French airports had not received notification of any flight cancellations, she said. Preliminary reports indicate that the aircraft had technical problems after taking off and crashed into the sea while trying to turn back to Sharm El-Sheikh Airport.

Mrs. Rizq expressed her deep sorrow over the tragic accident, which she said had occurred at a time when an increasing number of French tourists were visiting Egypt. She added that over 32,000 tourists have visited Egypt from France in November.
