Enterprise begins development of the first of its 55 hotels to open in Mexico.
MEXICO CITY – G6 Hospitality, known for its iconic economy lodging brands, Motel 6 and Studio 6 in the U.S. and Canada, has broken ground to develop its property located in Salamanca, Guanajuato. This will be the first Estudio 6 property in Mexico.
To celebrate the ground breaking, G6 executives hosted a special event that welcomed a unique blend of attendees, including high-ranking national and local authorities, local and national press, special guests from major businesses in the region, as well as members of the community.
“Salamanca and its surroundings are growing exponentially, as evidenced by the accelerated industrial and commercial development of the region,” said Jim Amorosia, CEO and president of G6 Hospitality. “Our Estudio 6 hotel will offer the best price-value option for workforce travelers and visitors looking for extended stay lodging in the area.”
With an estimated investment of nearly 45 million pesos (Mexican), the new seven-story building will consist of 78 rooms featuring elements of the company’s award winning Phoenix design. “We believe the perfect balance between the high-quality design and construction elements and the quality of service will be our key differentiators among other lodging options in the region,” said Juan Carlos Gonzalez, vice president, Latina Promohoteles.
Once completed, the new Estudio 6 will be the only hotel in the area to offer suite-type rooms with fully equipped kitchenettes, microwave, refrigerator, cable TV, internet and parking. All of these services combined with the long tradition of a strong brand promise of offering clean rooms and great service at affordable prices, making it the perfect option for extended stay travelers and guests. The projected opening date for the hotel is Q4-2015 and will be located at the Carretera Federal Libre Queretaro-Irapuato km. 89+900, Salamanca, Guanajuato.
In 2014, G6 Hospitality signed an area development agreement with Latina Promohoteles, a subsidiary of Promodesa Comercial, to develop up to 55 properties by 2020 in Mexico under the brands Hotel 6 and Estudio 6.
