All bookings scheduled to arrive between now and January 31, 2012 will be moved as the gravity of the situation in Palm Island is assessed.
DEERFIELD BEACH, FLA. – Unfortunately, in the early hours of Dec. 24th morning, there was a generator fire on Palm Island. Thankfully, no one was injured and the fire was confined to the back-of-the-house generator area, away from guest accommodations.
However, this has affected the island’s electrical generators and power supply.
Palm Island is a self-sufficient island, which provides its own utilities like electricity and water. Without electricity, Palm Island will not be able to continue operations and therefore we have been forced to close the island with immediate effect. We are currently working to relocate guests to alternate resorts in St. Lucia and Barbados.
While we assess the situation at Palm Island, we will be moving all bookings scheduled to arrive between now and January 31, 2012.
We will be updating guests and tour operators frequently as more information becomes available.
All new bookings to PALM ISLAND are now on Stop Sale with immediate effect through January 31, 2013. This measure is as a precaution and not a definitive period.
We will do everything in our power to make the guest relocation process as smooth and efficient as possible. Please bear with us during this difficult time.
