Golden Tulip Hotels, Inns & Resorts is proud to announce the 2005 Golden Tulip and Tulip Inn of the Year for the Benelux: Golden Tulip Resort Noordsee and Tulip Inn Amsterdam Centre.
Based on the results of the annual quality assurance programme carried out by the independent hotel classification organisation ANWB (Dutch automobile association – Algemene Nederlandse Wielrijders Bond), each Golden Tulip Hotel, Inn & Resort has the opportunity to become the Hotel/Inn of the Year. The quality assurance inspection consists of a mystery guest visit evaluating each hotel based on service, branding, hygiene and a number of other points with the highest scoring hotel from the Golden Tulip and Tulip Inn brands being presented the prestigious award. The nominees for the 2005 Award included the Golden Tulip Resort Noordsee (Ameland), Golden Tulip Hotel Central (Den Bosch), Golden Tulip Paterswolde-Groningen (Groningen), the Tulip Inn Amsterdam Centre (Amsterdam), the Tulip Inn Bergen op Zoom (Bergen op Zoom) and the Tulip Inn Zevenbergen (Zevenbergen).
This year`s Golden Tulip of the Year award went to the Golden Tulip Resort Noordsee, a 110-room hotel located in Ameland. Mr. Roy Boom, general manager of the Golden Tulip Resort Noordsee comments: We are very happy to have received this prestigious award. There are more than 50 Golden Tulip hotels in the Benelux and to take the first place in this group, fills me with extreme pride and is a real compliment to the hard work my team puts into the daily operation of the hotel. The Golden Tulip Resort Noordsee became a franchisee of Golden Tulip Hotels, Inns & Resorts in 2002.
The Tulip Inn of the Year was awarded to the Tulip Inn Amsterdam Centre, a 70-room hotel located in the heart of Amsterdam. Mr. Michiel Vrijman, general manager of the Tulip Inn Amsterdam Centre, states: We recently completed an extensive renovation of the hotel and it is very good to see that our investment pays off. It is great that we have won this Award, after joining the chain only two years ago. To be the `Tulip Inn of the Year 2005 Benelux` is a real motivation for me and my team to continue the hard work and live up to the title we were given. The Tulip Inn Amsterdam Centre joined the Golden Tulip portfolio in 2003.
The Golden Tulip Resort Noordsee and the Tulip Inn Amsterdam Centre will receive their well-deserved awards at the Award Gala during the Golden Tulip`s 27th Annual Hotelier and Owner`s Conference, held this year in the Golden Tulip Carthage Tunis in Tunisia from November 23rd to 27th 2004.
