Buenos Aires will play host yet again to the 3rd Annual Hostelworld.com Latin America Hostel Conference which this year is being opened by the Ambassador of Ireland to Argentina, H.E James McIntyre. Over 280 delegates from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Mexico, Costa Rica, Bolivia and Columbia will be attending the 2 day conference, taking place in the Castelar Hotel & Spa in Buenos Aires, Argentina on the 1st & 2nd of November. The record number of attendees highlights the strength of the hostel industry across Latin America and the value accommodation providers place on Hostelworld.com.
Despite a global recession Latin America is proving to be an extremely resilient market and is growing in popularity, with Hostelworld.com bookings showing an increase of over 30% this year. The hostel conference will focus on how hostel owners can continue this trajectory by focusing on a number of themes relevant to the hostel industry, with the primary focus on website optimization, social media, the increasing power of the mobile world and sustainable tourism.
Hostelworld.com’s CEO Feargal Mooney will provide the keynote address, followed by expert speakers including Rodrigo Duran (an SEM specialist), Maximiliano Firtman, founder and director of Argentina RIA and Flex User Group (an expert in the mobile world) and Juan Pablo Lanteri, who will examine the importance of hostels building their own Social Media Marketing.
Also speaking at the conference will be Marco Arru, a specialist in organizational communication and Maria Laura Romero and Claudia Brea, specialists in the hospitality industry. Hostelworld.com’s Business Development Manager for Latin America Itziar Gonzalez will discuss booking trends, highlighting some of the new and growth destinations from the region.
