As of this year, all of the initiatives – large and small – have found a permanent place in the entrance area of the hotel. The “Wall of Change”, which was awarded the ADAC sustainability prize, is intended to stimulate discussion and, above all, to encourage others to follow suit.
Changes in Erlangen. From now on, the sustainable hotel Creativhotel Luise will revert back to its original name Hotel Luise and bear a new logo. The new orientation is meant to emphasize the hotel’s constant factor: the family character of the Förtsch family, which has been running the Hotel Luise for three generations.
“We’re more than a hotel”
Hotel Luise – named after Luise, the great-grandmother of the current owner – is not only a place for climate-friendly accommodation. It’s also a place for conferences, wellness and more. For this purpose, separate branded areas have been defined, united under the umbrella of the brand Hotel Luise. Each area is named after a member of the family:
- “Klauskeller” includes the breakfast area and the Tiefhof.
- “Heinzigartig” represents all the hotel’s meeting and event facilities. In addition to the roof terrace, there’s also a new event room. Named after Heinz Förtsch, a first-generation member of the family. Gallant as he was, he liked to let others shine.
- “Gud ru’hn” is now the name of the wellness area including all relaxation services like massages and the private spa.
- “MargaLädla” includes all opportunities to purchase hotel products (such as honey from the hotel’s own bees). Including the 24/7 vending machine in front of the hotel and the micro-hotel store in the converted pharmacy.
Pioneers of the sustainable hotel industry
Anyone interested in sustainable hotel management can’t avoid Hotel Luise. The parents of today’s owner, Ben Förtsch, were already considered “ecos” and among the first to align their entire hotel operation according to environmentally friendly criteria. Since then, the concept has been expanded continuously. Always showing that sustainability doesn’t mean doing without.
At Hotel Luise, you can sleep peacefully in “renewable hotel rooms”, take a long but water-saving shower in the “astronaut showers” and hold climate-friendly meetings – always with a clear conscience.
