SAN ANTONIO – USAA Real Estate Company announces a change in management in its La Cantera Resort. Effective December 12th, the hotel will be known as the La Cantera Hill Country Resort and will be managed by Denver-based Destination Hotels & Resorts.

La Cantera Hill Country Resort is an upscale, AAA Four-Diamond resort situated on one of the highest points in San Antonio, offering panoramic views of both the city and the scenic Texas Hill Country. In addition to the resort’s award-winning 18-hole championship La Cantera Resort Course and the 18-hole Palmer Course, La Cantera offers a full array of destination-oriented amenities designed to appeal to both leisure and group guests.
“While the resort already offers a spectacular setting and exceptional amenities, we are committed to making a significant investment into the property that will reposition La Cantera Hill Country Resort as a world class resort,” continued O’Donnell. “We are in the early stages of planning future improvements, but we are considering new restaurant concepts as well as improvements to the pool areas and other resort amenities.”
USAA Real Estate Company is the master developer and owner of La Cantera, which has evolved into the most sought-after business and retail destination in the region. The repositioning of the Resort comes at a time when the company has two other projects at La Cantera in various stages of development, including The Residences at La Cantera, a 322-unit luxury residential project located adjacent to The Shops at La Cantera which is currently in lease-up, and the recently-announced 128,700 square foot West Ridge, a new master-planned office project that is expected to break ground in the near future.
