Onorio Rebecchini

Onorio Rebecchini takes helm as President of Roma & Lazio Convention Bureau for 2023-2026, aiming to elevate Rome and Lazio as prime locales for international events and business travel.

Onorio Rebecchini is the new President of the Roma & Lazio Convention Bureau (CBReL) for the years 2023-2026. Elected by the new Board of Directors, Rebecchini – who had already held this role in 2017 – succeeds Stefano Fiori, CEO of Univers Group.

Sixty-three years old, engineer and entrepreneur, founder member of Unione Rugby Capitolina, with a wide experience in the tourism and hôtellerie industries, Rebecchini’s mission will be to increase Rome and Lazio visibility as the destination of excellence for international events, congresses and conferences.

“I would like to thank the outgoing President, Stefano Fiori, for his unceasing commitment over the last years and for his profound ability to have managed a delicate period for the tourism sector due to Covid. His invaluable input, combined to the work carried out with the Board and staff, has enaled us to achieve extraordinary results in promoting Rome and Lazio as first-class destinations for international events.“, Rebecchini stated.

Founded in 2017 with a public-private partnership agreement, the CBReL aims to promote the tourist destination and the offer of services and venues in the territory of Rome and Lazio on the national and international Business Travel and Meeting Industry market, working in strategic collaboration with Roma Capitale and Lazio Region.

“Following a programmatic process that has already started, we will share a strategic vision to increase the appeal and reputation of our excellence in international markets and attract high-profile investors and events. Our commitment to support the entire regional tourism chain will be reflected in specific initiatives aimed at promoting ambitious and sustainable growth and encouraging collaboration between our members – the main players in the meetings industry – and the world’s major tourism players. Rome and Lazio have a complete offer and unique attractive factors and although our destination is one of the most desired for the development of international projects, there is still much work to be done. We hope for a strong and constructive dialogue with institutions and trade associations to guarantee high quality standards for our destination with the shared aim to pursue together much more ambitious and challenging goals.”, concluded Rebecchini.
