The concept of 'common use' or independent VIP airport lounges is still relatively rare in the US, but very popular in Europe and Asia.
DALLAS – Airport Lounge Development (ALD) announced the opening of the first and only common use airport lounge at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, The Club at ATL. This new lounge at the world’s busiest airport marks ALD’s sixth lounge, maintaining its position as the US leader in the development of independent non-airline affiliated airport lounge spaces.
The concept of ‘common use’ or independent VIP airport lounges is still relatively rare in the US, but very popular in Europe and Asia. ALD is borrowing from this strong tradition in Europe and Asia, and tailoring it to the US market, designing and operating spaces that allow travelers to relax in comfort while waiting for their flight, enjoying complimentary food and beverages, including alcohol, and accessing free Wi-Fi, magazines, newspapers and television. Guests can be traveling on any airline, with any class of ticket, and simply need to purchase a day-pass from reception, or be enrolled in the non-airline affiliated membership program, PriorityPass.
Graham Richards, Director of Operations for ALD said, “US travelers are generally accustomed to accessing airport lounges by joining an airline specific membership program or via select credit cards. Our lounges are unique in that we welcome all travelers, no matter which airline, or which class of travel they are flying.”
“We are so pleased to be opening our latest lounge at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world’s busiest airport. This gives us the opportunity to share our unique proposition with more guests, many of whom will be on transit through the airport and will be seeking a quiet refuge to relax in the midst of a long journey.”
The Club at ATL will be located in Atlanta’s new Maynard Holbrook Jackson, Jr. International Terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Concourse F on the Mezzanine Level.
“We are pleased to partner with Airport Lounge Development to bring our first common use VIP lounge to the international terminal,” said Aviation General Manager Louis Miller. “We’ve designed this terminal with customer convenience in mind, and the addition of The Club at ATL will offer all of our customers the comforts and amenities associated with a high-end airport lounge at an affordable price.”
The Club at ATL provides a modern, relaxing and attractive lounge environment for travelers and a respite from the hustle and bustle of the busiest airport in the world. With a dramatic skyline view of downtown Atlanta through a two story glass wall, The Club embodies a sense of harmony with curved bar, curved walls and ceilings.
Passengers visiting The Club at ATL can enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages, including beer, wine and liquor. The Club also has high speed Wi-Fi, workstations with PC’s and printers, newspapers, magazines, flight information display screens and shower facilities. The Club has approximately 7,257 square feet and has seating for 160 people.
