Located near Gate 9, the new lounge is designed to meet the needs of discerning travelers, and will open as a number of new airlines start serving Terminal 3 (including Delta Air Lines, Philippine Airlines and Garuda Indonesia).
LONDON – Airport Lounge Development (ALD), a subsidiary of Collinson Group, and Swissport are to launch an exciting new lounge at Heathrow Terminal 3 in response to a significant increase in demand for lounge access from business travelers. ‘Club Aspire’ will open to the public in October 2016, with travel agents and airline providers already able to make bookings for customers to use the lounge.
Located near Gate 9, the new lounge is designed to meet the needs of discerning travelers, and will open as a number of new airlines start serving Terminal 3 (including Delta Air Lines, Philippine Airlines and Garuda Indonesia) with forecasts of a 9.8% growth in outbound international business travel from the UK in 2016, followed by a further 8.9% increase in 20171. The lounge will be available to premium airline passengers of participating airlines as part of their premium tickets, cardholders of Collinson’s lounge membership programs Priority Pass, LoungeKey and Lounge Club, as well as to day pass customers purchasing access directly via Swissport’s lounge booking website and through key partners.
Club Aspire is the second lounge to be launched in a joint venture partnership between Airport Lounge Development (ALD), a subsidiary of Collinson Group and Swissport, two of the most experienced global companies operating airport lounges today. ‘Club Aspire’ builds on the success of ‘Aspire, the Lounge and Spa at LHR T5’, opened by the joint venture partnership at Heathrow Terminal 5 in 2015, and which is already being expanded to cope with the exceptional customer demand for access with seats for an additional 50 guests soon to be available. Club Aspire also builds on ALD’s existing portfolio of 12 airport lounges in the US operating under ‘The Club’ brand as well as Swissport’s 14 lounges across the world operating under the ‘Aspire’ brand.
Club Aspire will accommodate more than 120 passengers, who can all enjoy complimentary Prosecco as an introductory offer for the first three months, to celebrate the launch. The brand-new, state of the art airport lounge incorporates the very best of contemporary design, including a range of dedicated zones that will ensure travelers can work, pamper themselves or simply rest before their journey.
Key features include:
- Business traveler services, including reliable and complimentary Wi-Fi, charging points and desk areas
- Dedicated Snooze Area with lounger seats
- Quiet Zone
- Multimedia tables, enabling travelers to access news and play games
- A full Bliss Spa where travelers can enjoy a range of massages, manicures, and other pamper treatments
- On-site showers, toilet and baby change areas
- Further details can be found in the notes to editors
Club Aspire’s best-of-British food menu will include complimentary, freshly-prepared breakfast rolls, a salad bar, deli counter, and children’s options. A premium menu with full meals will also be available for a small charge. Drink options will include complimentary premium brand alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, along with speciality teas and coffees.
Errol McGlothan, Director, ALD said: “We’re excited by the opportunity to offer our Club Aspire product to Terminal 3 travelers just one year after being overwhelmed by the response of customers to our product at Heathrow Terminal 5. Club Aspire is designed around the needs of the business traveler and offers choice to independent travelers looking to make the perfect start to their journey.”
Shaun Weston, Travel Services Director, Swissport commented: “Swissport’s lounge offerings have grown steadily in popularity with the Aspire brand since it launched in 2012, and now covers many global destinations. The opening of ‘Club Aspire’ gives us a presence in one of the world’s most popular airport terminals and is another step forward for Swissport and the Aspire brand. We’re pleased to have been able to combine our operational expertise with that of ALD’s to create another world class lounge facility.”
Stephen Wilkinson, Property Director, Heathrow said: “Following the success of ‘Aspire, the Lounge and Spa at LHR T5’, we are delighted to be bringing the same experience to Terminal 3 with Club Aspire. We are always looking for new ways for our customers to receive the very best experience when they fly and we hope they enjoy the newest independent lounge we have to offer.”
At launch, the lounge will be available to:
- Priority Pass, LoungeKey and Lounge Club members who will have access to the lounge as part of their membership.
