WASHINGTON, DC – The Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, has been accepted as the newest member of Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI). A historic icon and the original Chapel Hill, North Carolina hotel, the fully renovated, AAA Four-Diamond hotel has been a Chapel Hill landmark since 1924. The hotel now receives ALHI’s authorized and dedicated Global Sales Organization (GSO) services and sales support to North American corporations, associations, independent planners, business executives, and incentive specialists desiring to conduct meetings and/or incentive programs at the elegant hotel. The Carolina Inn becomes ALHI’s third member in North Carolina, joining the legendary Pinehurst Resort (in Pinehurst) and the beloved The Omni Grove Park Inn (in Asheville).

Ideally located on the picturesque campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, The Carolina Inn features 185 beautifully renovated guestrooms including 7 luxurious suites. Winner of AAA’s Four-Diamond Award for 16 consecutive years, the exquisite hotel features over 29,000 square feet of unique and flexible indoor and outdoor function space, which can accommodate up to 500 guests. Intimate courtyards with lush landscaping, as well as 11 handsomely appointed meeting rooms, are among the very appealing options for groups. The exceptional guest rooms feature complimentary Wi-Fi, HD LCD TVs, and complimentary in-room coffee and tea. Providing distinctive decor and award-winning cuisine, the hotel features a mix of early American and English Regency styles that creates a unique atmosphere of elegance and historic ambiance. The hotel offers one of only three Forbes Four-Star restaurants in North Carolina called Carolina Crossroads Restaurant & Bar, complimentary Wi-Fi throughout, a fitness center, a business center, full-service concierge, valet/laundry service, and nightly turndown. The hotel is within walking distance of historic Franklin Street featuring the Ackland Art Museum, charming shops, boutiques, and Morehead Planetarium. It is also situated near the Tom Fazio-designed UNC Finley Golf Course, Kenan Stadium, Dean Smith Center, the North Carolina Botanical Gardens, and Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The Carolina Inn is just 25 minutes from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU).

In addition to their membership in ALHI’s worldwide portfolio of Four- and Five-Diamond quality hotels and resorts, The Carolina Inn becomes the newest addition to the “ALHI U-200 Gems Collection” and “ALHI Historic Collection” specialty segments. The former consists of ALHI’s hotels and resorts with fewer than 200 rooms, which now numbers 17 outstanding options. The latter consists of ALHI’s legendary meeting hotels with a rich heritage of more than 50 years, which now number 40 outstanding properties.

ALHI now features 11 specialty segments within its exclusive portfolio to make it easy for planners to identify properties, destinations, venues, and/or ships that will best suit their programs’ objectives, unique desires and specific needs.

“The Carolina Inn is a wonderful choice for planners,” said David Gabri, president and CEO of ALHI. “Featuring a breathtaking setting, first-class service and facilities, and convenient access, it provides the best of both worlds: a charming historical ambiance, along with beautifully renovated facilities. Planners should contact their ALHI Global Sales professional to find out more about this remarkable hotel.”
