Cape Air increases service to Rota

Rota flights operated for United Express are now available daily and with daylight timings.

TIYAN – Cape Air, will enhance their current flights operated for United Express to offer daily service to Rota, with convenient, new daylight timings. The additional flights will begin operating on Friday, November 1, 2013. International and domestic travelers, as well as local representatives had requested increased frequency.

Cape Air’s President, Linda Markham, offered, “When we began service in Guam in 2004, we made a commitment to the communities to provide flights that were convenient and easy. Part of that commitment is listening to our customers and leaders in the region, working together and establishing a solution that works for everyone. I am delighted that Cape Air is able to provide a much requested service to our friends and supporters in Guam, and ideally, increase the number of travelers to Rota.”

Rota’s Mayor, Melchor Mendiola, shared his appreciation for the cooperation between Cape Air and the local representatives, “Efficient air transportation services to and from Rota shall contribute to the economic growth of the island. In our quest for reliable air service transportation, I am heightened by Cape Air’s approval to provide daily flights serving Rota, the Mariana Islands, and connecting to international destinations. I extend my support and appreciation to all involved in this essential air service.”

Representative Terri Santos, Chairperson of the Rota Legislative Delegation, adds, “On behalf of the people and leaders of Rota, I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to the officials of Cape Air including all the affected stakeholders who participated in making such plan a reality.”
