The social travel platform minube is launching a new version of its app which lets travelers get inspired, plan their trips, and book rooms in over 300,000 hotels around the world. The app also includes a revamped profile and Activity screen which creates a visual narrative of your places, those shared by your friends, as well as highlights from the minube community. Minube now boasts 1.2 millions photos, 550,000 points of interest, and 800,000 registered users, and is available in 5 languages.
With over 30% of its 35 million annual visits originating from mobile devices, minube’s new app offers an on-the-go way of finding available accommodations in over 40,000 cities worldwide, as well as recommendations about what to see, what to do, where to eat, and, of course, where to stay from over 800,000 real travelers.
This new feature is initially being sourced from Booking.com, the global leader in online hotel reservations, but various other high-profile providers will be added in the coming weeks. The booking process is fully integrated into the app which allows travelers planning their trip to complete the entire travel process using one simple service.
Minube’s goal is to provide real-time hotel availability and pricing for travelers both before and during their trip. Travelers can use minube’s other tools like the Inspiration screen to discover new and interesting destinations thanks to recommendations from other travelers, or begin the planning process with family and friends by creating personalized lists and downloadable travel guides to help get the most out of their trip.
Another highlight of the new minube app is an improved profile design which focuses on creating a visual narrative behind traveling and providing inspirational way of discovering new places, whether it’s a cliff with amazing views, a trendy local nightspot, or a distant Buddhist monastery. Accessing this visual activity feed is as simple as entering the Activity screen and discovering the places shared by the travelers you follow, some highlights from the minube community at large, and the places you yourself have shared. You can show a little love by liking the experiences that appear, a process which adds those experiences to your favorites and is visible to your contacts on minube. This revamped profile reflects minube’s overarching goal of creating a platform where travelers can come to get inspired by the experiences of others and share their favorite places with a community of like-minded travelers.
