Ecuador’s International Tourism Fair, is considered nowadays, the most important event of the South Pacific Coast. In the next edition of the Fair (FITE 2006), the event reaches an important stage with the participation of 45 countries. Ecuador’s International Tourism Fair will take place from 21 September to 24 September in the exhibition area of Malecon 2000 – Palacio de Cristal in Guayaquil.

The number of countries that have enrolled is a clear sign of the growing interest around the event and a clear sign of the international strengthening of the Fair’s image. It is also an indicator of the growing interest around Ecuador as a tourism destination in the world. Ecuador’s International Tourism Fair is attracting all this interest as a result of its advertising strategy in the new markets.

“During the last few months FITE’s organization contacted countries from the North of Europe (Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway), in order to secure their participation during the Fair and to advertise Ecuador as a destination for these countries. The Fair is also strengthening the ties with Asian countries, such as, Japan and India,” comments Jaime Rull, president of the FITE.

As part of the Fair’s efforts to advertise the event and Ecuador as a tourist destination, it has been organized a journey for the operators of the sector and for the media, in order to allow them to discover the immense wealth of Ecuador’s four different worlds: the seaside, the Andes, the Amazon forest and the Galapagos.
