Mrs. Pave Zupan Ruskovic, M.Sc., 1st European Golf Investment & Real Estate Conference of the Republic of Croatia, will deliver a keynote presentation to a distinguished audience of industry leaders, top investors, leading entrepreneurs, decision-makers, policy formers and professionals at the 1st European Golf Investment & Real Estate Conference & Exhibit in Athens on November 29th, 2003.
Pave is Croatia`s foremost businesswoman in the tourism sector. She was appointed Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia in 2000, leaving the formerly held position of the President of ATLAS Travel Agency, one of the largest travel companies in Croatia, with its head office in Dubrovnik. Pave served as the President of ATLAS since 1982, and she was also the President of the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies (UPHA) and the Association of the American Travel Agencies, ASTA.
Pave was the recipient of ASTA prestigious International Travel Agent of the Year award in 1999, and the same year the World Travel Market awarded her with Tribute 21 award which was granted to twenty-one professionals from the tourism sector for their outstanding accomplishments in the field. She was also awarded by the his majesty King Hussein of Jordan King Hussein Peace Award 2000 in the same year for her exceptional contribution to peace and promotion of the city of Dubrovnik as a tourist destination during the war times. In 2002, Pave was recognised by the Travelling Times, Inc. as one of the few individuals that have made an indelible impact on the world of travel and for her endurable contribution to the industry she was awarded Onore de Amerigo Vespucci, in the spirit of the great explorer who ventured into the world with courage and optimism. She was appointed at the same occasion with the life-long membership in the association.
Pave was born in 1947 in Dubrovnik, where she attended primary and secondary schools. She graduated from the Faculty of Economy of the University of Zagreb, where she earned the title of the Master`s Degree of the economy in tourism. She is married and has two daughters.
