At a gala ceremony European airports took the top accolades in all four categories at the OAG Airport Marketing Awards for the second year running. The event took place in Dubai at Routes, the annual World Route Development Forum. The awards, four in all, have equal merit and each one recognises the varying levels of passenger traffic each airport handles.

There was an unprecedented tie-break for one award, with Amsterdam Schiphol and Munich International sharing the honours in the “more than 25 million passengers per year” category.

Athens International retained its title in the “Ten to 25 million passengers per year” category. Nice Cote d`Azur beat off stiff competition in the “5 – 10 million passengers per year” category, and London City won the “Less than 5 million passengers per year” category.

Several airports were “Highly Commended”. These included Frankfurt Hahn, Orlando Sanford International, Stuttgart, Bahrain International, Kuala Lumpur International, Moscow Domodedovo International, Dallas Fort Worth and Singapore Changi.
