A £350,000 extension to the catering facilities

Extension plans begin at the East Midlands Conference Center

Work has begun on a £350,000 extension to the catering facilities at the East Midlands Conference Centre which will double the size of the existing set up. The development will lead to increased capabilities at the EMCC including the ability to host over 500 people for a banquet.

As well as being designed with an increased environmental consideration, the larger space will allow the EMCC to cater for a more diverse range of events, increase refreshment efficiency for larger events, and provide space to serve food for two smaller conferences or events simultaneously.

The project will be completed in five months by local building contractor specialists; J Tomlinson and will consist of an extension to the rear of the facilities and a total refurbishment. The implementation of the project has also been designed to ensure visitors to the East Midlands Conference Centre will continue to receive the highest quality food and drink throughout the build.

“The East Midlands Conference Centre has an excellent reputation for the food and drink we serve, this extension means we can now cater for simultaneous events without compromising the quality of our produce or service,” comments Kirstie Danzey, Marketing Manager, Nottingham Conferences. “We’ve also scheduled the build to ensure our clients continue to receive first class service throughout.”

“It is a privilege for a local Beeston based building contractor to be working on this important project for the East Midlands Conference Centre and strengthens our long standing working relationship with the University of Nottingham,” commented Pat Cassidy, Managing Director of J Tomlinson. “It is pleasing to see local investment involving a local contractor and local consultants in a facility, which will be used by the people of Nottingham, the East Midlands and across Europe”.
