Spain paid tribute to Greece and the Hellenic Tourism Organisation (EOT<.>) during a recent ceremony whose guest of honour was EOT chairman Ioannis Stefanidis.

More than 200 directors of major companies from a wide range of fields attended the event, organised by the financial magazine Actualidad, where Stefanidis received an honorary title.

During his visit to Madrid for the international FITUR<.> 2000 tourism fair, the EOT chairman had the opportunity to meet with tour operators, travel agents and journalists.

Stefanidis found that Greece as a destination has started the year with favourable prospects and that Spanish tourists have great interest in the country. This was confirmed through contacts with the chairmen of the Confederation of Latin American Travel Agents (COTAL) and the Federation of Spanish Travel Agency Associations (FEAAV).
