Kos, Greece – The Aegean island of Kos<.> is apparently gaining more and more momentum, as far as figures provided by the Civil Aviation Authority are concerned. Just recently, and according to island authorities, over 700.000 tourists visited the island in the 2001 tourist season, marking an increase in the area of some 6.8 percent over the same period in 2000. Most tourists are foreigners, while domestic tourists comprised a surprising 3-4 percent over the corresponding period a year earlier.
