WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ – Perillo Tours, a leader in escorted travel to Italy for more than 75 years introduces three new escorted Italy itineraries for 2024. Each of the new tours, ranging from 9 to 12 days, highlight a different region showcasing the country’s abundance of art, history, food, and culture.

“Alongside Italy’s larger, more well-known cities, we wanted to share with our guests some of Italy’s smaller, more off-the-beaten path towns and villages,” said Steve Perillo, third generation owner of Perillo Tours. “The new 2024 portfolio showcases the best of Italy, immersing travelers in beloved locations and authentic experiences, while sharing some of the country’s smaller, insider secrets along the way.”

New for 2024

During the new 11-day “Green heart of Italy” itinerary, guests will explore the beautiful region of Umbria, also known as Italy’s “Green Heart” while stopping to discover the many picturesque towns and UNESCO World Heritage Sites along the way. Travelers arrive in the Eternal City to discover Rome’s most renown historical sites and from there, Umbria awaits. Highlights of the tour include exploring the hidden gem of Spoleto, an ancient hilltop town in one of Italy’s oldest cities; a visit to Assisi, the birthplace of, St. Francis, one of Italy’s most famous patron saints; a tour of Gubbio, the well-preserved medieval town dating back to the Etruscan period; and cruise on Lake Trasimeno before heading to the Tuscan countryside. Guests will also visit local wine and olive oil producers, go truffle hunting with a truffle hunter and his trained dogs and hone their cooking skills during a hands-on cooking class with a Tuscan chef. Available departures run April through October 2024.

Guests are introduced to the creative geniuses of the Renaissance period including Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Botticelli during the 9-day “Renaissance Tour” 2024. The itinerary begins with a tour of Rome before heading off to Florence, also known as the “the Cradle of the Renaissance.” An expert Perillo guide will lead the group through the medieval streets of Florence to Piazza della Signoria, home of Santa Croce Church and Michelangelo’s final resting place. Additional highlights include a guided walk to discover the most powerful dynasty of all time, the Medici Family, while exploring important examples of Renaissance architecture.
