TravelersBox expands international service with first launch in North American Airport

Now travelers at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Toronto can convert leftover foreign currency into usable digital currency.

KADIMA, ISRAEL – TravelersBox, the first and only solution allowing travelers in airports to convert leftover foreign currency into usable digital currency, today announced an expansion of the TravelersBox service to Toronto Pearson International Airport. According to the new agreement signed with Toronto Pearson, Travelersbox will place ten kiosks throughout the airport by Christmas Eve, 2015. TravelersBox currently operates airport kiosks in Italy, Turkey, Georgia, Israel, Philippines, and Japan.

“Our most active and loyal users have been Americans and Canadians, who deposit an average of over $25 per transaction through our kiosks on other continents,” said Tomer Zussman, founder and CEO of TravelersBox. “We’re excited to be able to provide this service to our dedicated customers and to all travelers from around the world.”

Travelers can use TravelersBox kiosks located in airports throughout the world to deposit their leftover foreign coins and bills directly into online accounts including PayPal, gift cards (iTunes, Starbucks, Skype, Gap, and more); or to make a charitable donation before leaving a country.

TravelersBox solves a common problem facing anyone traveling abroad: local currency accumulated during the visit usually ends up left in a drawer and forgotten, with significant lost value accruing over more travel. TravelersBox’s kiosks use proprietary technology and an intelligent financial process to facilitate the complex process of converting physical currency of one country into digital currency for another.

“Toronto Pearson is a leading international hub and we are pleased to provide this convenience for travelers,” said Michael Ross, Director, Commercial Development and Passenger Communications, Toronto Pearson International Airport. “Unique services like those provided by TravelersBox improve our passenger’s experience and provide an option to conveniently turn their spare change into valuable gift cards or to support the Propeller Project, Toronto Pearson’s community investment program.”

In each country the machines accept the local currency and other popular currencies in the area.
