First day – January 21st, 2004
- After breakfast, departure from Athenaeum Inter-Continental at 09.00 a.m. and through Livadia, we will visit the famous Byzantine monastery of Ossios Loukas, constructed in tha XI century. It is an eight-shaped construction, with a huge Dome built of stones and bricks.
- On the way to Delphi we will have lunch in Arachova, a large mountain village, famous throughout Greece for its excellent location and the beauty of its landscape.
- After Arachova, we will visit Delphi, known as the center of the world, the so-called omphalos of the earth. There, we will see the temple of Apollo and the fountain of Kastalia, where in the ancient times Pythia and the priests used to give oracles (about all importand events), chewing daphne leaves.
- Departure to Athens and arrival at the hotel approximately at 18.00h.
