The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) and the National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB) will debut the High Growth Hospitality Workforce Summit during the 2005 Las Vegas International Hotel & Restaurant Show (LVIHRS), April 27, at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. Sponsored by Employment Guide, the Summit will feature key industry leaders and human resources executives from corporations such as Radisson, Hilton, Cendant, Starwood, Gaylord Entertainment, and Richfield Hospitality, Inc., as well as independent resorts.

The Summit will provide representatives from the Workforce Development System, which operates career centers funded by the United States Department of Labor, with knowledge about the lodging industry, the various types of careers available, the tremendous opportunities for career growth, and associated high paying jobs available to the clients served by their agencies.

AH&LA is taking the lead, through its Center for Workforce Development, to consider new and progressive ways to locate and train future employees, said Jeff Gerber, AH&LA Director of Workforce Development. The lodging and hospitality industries are one of high quality guest service, and our jobs will not be outsourced. It is projected that our industry will create an additional 400,000 jobs by the year 2012.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to network and learn how to implement invaluable job skill training programs for their future employees.
