Malaysia low cost carrier, AirAsia, has plans to start services to Macau by the middle of this year. AirAsia group chief executive officer, Tony Fernandes, said Macau was a potential market.



If all goes according to plans, AirAsia will launch Macau flights linking Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok between June and July. AirAsia has liaised with Macau`s airport authority and Macau is very committed to get AirAsia operate there, Fernandes added.



The airline also confirmed that its Kota Kinabalu-Bangkok flight is expected to begin on June 1. It plans to tap the expatriate population living and working in Sabah`s capital to Bangkok.



AirAsia also started its first commercial flight from here to Bandung in Indonesia on Monday.
