  • Eastern Airways surfs into Newquay.

Eastern Airways, Humberside Airport based UK & European regional airline commenced the Summer 2023 program from the airport with the first Newquay – Cornwall service of the year taking off, operating up to four times weekly until September. This is quickly followed by the weekly Saturday flights to Jersey in the Channel Islands commencing on 13 th May and adds to the year-round Aberdeen service operated for 25-years continuously and the renewables sector focussed Esbjerg, Denmark service operating on Monday, Wednesday & Friday’s.

This growing Humberside based network means Eastern Airways have more routes than any previous year from North & North-East Lincolnshire, Hull & East Yorkshire’s own regional airport and helps those seeking a UK staycation option or for easier work commuting travel needs. The Channel Islands service is operated in partnership with Premier Holidays.

Roger Hage, Commercial Director, Eastern Airways, said: “Given the UK staycation growth remains a preference for many; we are welcoming back the Newquay-Cornwall service which complements our East-Midlands and London-Gatwick services to Cornwall with an expanded frequency for this year. We have also extended the length of operating season to the popular Channel Island destination of Jersey while continuing to grow the Esbjerg and Aberdeen offer from Humberside Airport, in what will be a busy 2023 from Humberside Airport. As a UK & European regional airline, we want to ensure the right services are being offered given Eastern Airways is all about supporting the regions of the UK, connecting people and places, so growing capacity will offer a welcome UK break destination from Humberside and a crucial part of increasing connectivity and aiding economic recovery where sustainable.”

Deborah Zost, managing director, Humberside Airport said: “The return of the service to Cornwall Newquay Airport, now operating up to four times a week with Eastern Airways, is fantastic news for holidaymakers wishing to enjoy the beautiful region of Cornwall. In addition, Eastern Airways operate routes to Aberdeen, Esbjerg and Jersey from their home base of Humberside Airport enabling both leisure and business travellers to fly from their local airport.”
