“We are thrilled about the commencement of this operation. With our direct flights from London Heathrow International Airport to Lima. This represents a historic milestone for LATAM Airlines, as we become the only airline to connect directly to Peru from the UK. This added to the route we already operate to Sao Paulo brings us to 12 weekly frequencies from the UK and solidifies us as the best option for passengers who want to fly to South America, reaching 143 destinations in 22 countries.” said Davide Ioppolo, Regional Commercial Director for Central and Southeast Europe, United Kingdom, Nordic Countries, Middle East and South Africa.

Heathrow’s Chief Commercial Officer, Ross Baker, said: “We are delighted to welcome LATAM’s new Lima service to Heathrow – the UK’s only direct connection to Peru. Thanks to streamlined visa access and joint membership of CPTPP, passengers and British exporters alike will benefit from this direct service. Whether it’s travelling to explore historic sites like Machu Picchu, or opening doors for expanding trade, we can’t wait to welcome the first passengers onto this new route.”

Lima, the heart of Peru, is a captivating destination that boasts a rich tapestry of cultural treasures. This vibrant capital offers an array of historical gems, including the stunning architecture of Plaza Mayor, the intricate history preserved at the Larco Museum, and the colonial allure of San Francisco Church. Lima’s artistic spirit thrives in neighborhoods like Barranco, a haven for contemporary art, and Miraflores, known for its coastal charm. The city’s culinary scene, celebrated for its fusion of flavors and innovation, is another integral part of its identity, making Lima a truly unparalleled and unique destination for UK visitors to explore.

From Europe LATAM Airlines operates to and from South American destinations from six countries: Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, France, Italy and Germany, so the company offers a wide range of possibilities for both leisure and business travelers. The airline has recently announced also a significant increase of daily flights between Lisbon and São Paulo (Guarulhos) from November, operating between 10 and 11 weekly frequencies; with a largest aircraft, a Boeing 777 which allows it to expand its offer by 90%.
