Throughout 2024, 5 aircraft will be painted with the colours of the national flags of the main countries where the airline operates: Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru and Ecuador.
SANTIAGO, CHILE – In an effort to celebrate the distinct and local pride of the main airline group in Latin America, the LATAM Airlines group unveiled its latest project, which consists of depicting five aircraft with the colours of the respective national flags of the countries where its subsidiaries operate domestic flights.
The idea, which will extend throughout 2024, is to gradually incorporate the five painted aircraft starting this January 11 with LATAM Airlines Brasil, when an Airbus A320neo with the green-yellow colours will debut; to later join planes with the tones that identify the subsidiaries of Colombia, Chile, Peru and, finally, Ecuador.
“Through this initiative, the group’s companies seek to further deepen the ties with each of the territories where they operate, highlighting the pride of the origins of all the collaborators who mobilise the LATAM Airlines group and reinforcing the connectivity offered by the group to people in their countries, in the region and in the world. The LATAM Airlines group is made up of a composition of the cultures of South America, diversity is an essential part of the group and this initiative is a way to honour and embrace differences, because we know that it is a great wealth of the region,” said Martin St. George, commercial and marketing vice president of LATAM Airlines Group.
The special paint, which is being implemented by 30 workers from the Brazilian subsidiary, maintains the characteristics of the LATAM logo already applied to its aircraft, modifying only the colours used. The design of the LATAM Airlines Brasil A320neo began this Monday at the São Carlos base, in Sao Paulo, the largest maintenance centre of the LATAM Airlines group.
Currently, the airline group has 332 aircraft; 56 Boeing passenger aircraft (models 767, 777 and 787) and 256 Airbus aircraft (models A319, A320, A320neo, A321 and A321neo). In addition, LATAM Cargo has 20 cargo aircraft.
