Ryanair launches Summer 2023 schedule for Liverpool with 4 new routes

Ryanair will operate over 255 weekly flights to/from Liverpool this summer (+15% growth vs S22).

Ryanair announced its new Liverpool schedule for Summer 2023, with 31 routes incl. 4 new sunshine destinations like Ibiza, Madrid, and Rome, as well as increased frequencies on 7 of Ryanair’s most popular Liverpool routes. This record schedule will see Ryanair base one new aircraft in Liverpool (4 total) for Summer 2023 – another $100m investment and over 30 new highly paid jobs for pilots and cabin crew.

Ryanair’s Liverpool Summer ‘23 schedule will deliver:

  • 1 new based aircraft (4 total)
  • $400m investment
  • 31 routes, incl. 4 new – Ibiza, Madrid, Rome Ciampino and Shannon
  • Over 255 flights per week
  • Increased frequencies on 7 routes – Alicante, Cork, Dublin, Knock, Paris, Reus & Tenerife
  • 15% capacity growth (vs S22)
  • Supporting over 1,500 jobs, incl.120 direct jobs

Ryanair will operate over 255 weekly flights to/from Liverpool this summer (+15% growth vs S22) growing both inbound tourism and jobs and offering its Liverpool customers the widest choice and the lowest fares when booking their Summer 2023 getaways. This unrivalled growth is underpinned by Ryanair’s $400m investment in Liverpool Airport, with 4 based aircraft and 1,500 jobs supported.

Although Ryanair welcomes the UK Govt’s 50% APD cut for domestic travel from April’23, this reduction ignores international connectivity which is fundamental for the growth of the UK’s economy and tourism. Ryanair calls on the UK Govt to fully abolish APD immediately for all travel, which would not only promote tourism, but support much needed connectivity to the UK, an island-based economy.

Ryanair’s Dara Brady said: “As the UK’s no.1 airline for low fares and reliability, Ryanair is pleased to announce our new Liverpool schedule for Summer 2023, with 4 exciting new routes to Ibiza, Madrid, Rome Ciampino & Shannon, offering Liverpool customers/visitors even more choice for their summer holidays at the lowest fares in Europe.

This new 2023 schedule will see the addition of one new based aircraft (4 total), representing another $100m investment in Liverpool Airport ($400m total) and supporting over 120 highly paid pilot and crew jobs, as Ryanair continues to deliver more traffic, connectivity, and lower fares than any other airline for the UK.

However, if we are to continue to grow and to drive recovery and connectivity to the UK, Prime Minister Sunak must immediately scrap APD in full for all travel (not just domestic travel) and provide incentives for airlines like Ryanair to stimulate growth and recovery for the UK and its regions, such as Liverpool.”

Paul Winfield, Director of Aviation Development for Liverpool John Lennon Airport said: “We are delighted to welcome these new services from Ryanair for summer 2023, giving passengers from across the North West and North Wales a wider range of destinations to reach from the region’s Faster, Easier, Friendlier Airport. The addition of a fourth based aircraft in Liverpool for summer 2023 is a sign of Ryanair’s confidence in the market from Liverpool and we look forward to expanding our range of destinations with the carrier in the future.”
