Singapore Airlines’ winter schedule enhances Abu Dhabi to Asia connections ahead of Grand Prix

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) announced that Singapore Airlines will be enhancing its flight schedule and connectivity from Abu Dhabi via Singapore to seven destinations within the Asia Pacific region starting from 30th October 2011 to coincide with Abu Dhabi’s peak tourism season.

The schedule also includes increased flights from Singapore to Osaka with eleven weekly flights, and five daily flights to Bangkok, which will offer wider choices for connecting flights to travelers from Abu Dhabi International Airport. Other additions from Singapore include increased frequencies to Auckland, Christchurch, Brisbane and Perth. In addition, passengers will now enjoy direct connections from Abu Dhabi to Seoul and Guangzhou for a smoother flight experience.

Eng. Ahmed Al Haddabi, Chief Operating Officer at ADAC, commented: “We are delighted to see more of our airline partners offer more choices to our passengers. Singapore Airlines improved connectivity over Changi ties into our busy winter season with the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix and the UAE’s peak tourism period. This is in line with ADAC’s continuous commitment to providing customers with improved services and convenient access to increasingly popular destinations around the world.”

Lee Juing Young, Manager of the Singapore Airlines Abu Dhabi office stated: “Singapore Airlines is pleased to provide its customers with improved connections between Abu Dhabi and the Asia Pacific region, as Abu Dhabi is becoming an increasingly important hub for business and tourism.”

Furthermore, from 27th September 2011, Singapore Airlines will also commence operations to a new destination through its regional subsidiary, Silkair, which will offer three weekly flights to the popular holiday destination Koh Samui in Thailand. In addition, from 11th October 2011, Silkair will launch three weekly flights to Bandung, the third largest city in Indonesia. This will further increase to five flights per week from 30th October 2011.
