Accor has recorded almost 15 million visits since the beginning of the year for its hotel sites as a whole (the accorhotels.com portal and its hotel brand sites: sofitel.com, novotel.com, mercure.com, coralia.com, thalassa.com, ibishotel.com, etaphotel.com, hotelformule1.com, motel6.com and redroof.com), i.e. an annual average of 78,000 visitors per day. The number of consultations per day has in fact increased rapidly in recent months: from 50,000 visits per day in January to 100,000 early in July. The wide range of the offer provided by accorhotels.com and its partners, together with the technical quality of the site, which is in constant progress, explain this spectacular growth.
1 million room nights were booked in this way worldwide, i.e. 1 room night every 17 seconds. By the end of the year, the reservations made over the Internet should pass the 2 million room night mark.
The quantity of room nights reserved over the Internet now makes up over 15% of reservations made via the central channels (telephone reservation center, Internet, global computer reservation system, voice servers and Minitel).
Total turnover via the hotel sites in 2000 amounted to 45 million euros (FRF 300 million). For 2001, taking into account the tendencies observed since the beginning of the year, it could climb to, or even exceed, the forecast total of 100 million euros.
