Best Western International launched the new Best Western Certified Manager Program and Best Western Learning Series for the owners and managers of its North American hotels. The Certified Manager Program concentrations will be offered in modular one-day sessions at various locations throughout North America. Concentrations include rooms management, leadership and finance, people skills and driving revenue. After completing all four days of classes, the attendee will become eligible to take the Best Western Certified Manager exam in order to achieve the designation of `BWCM` (Best Western Certified Manager).

The curriculum was designed after a careful, six-month, in-depth review of industry trends. Information on the top issues affecting hoteliers was collected from the International Society of Hospitality Consultants, Ernst & Young`s Hospitality Advisory Services and a select committee from Best Western membership. The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) `Top 10 Issues of Concerns Facing Sales and Marketing Executives` were also included in the needs assessment and incorporated into the course syllabus.

The Best Western business model is unique to the industry and that is why the annual renewal rate is so incredibly high. This clearly affordable learning series hits the mark for our members everywhere and has elements that target the needs of our hotel staffs, said Ken Willcocks, owner of the Best Western Sword Inn in Bancroft, Ontario, Canada and 2004 Chairman of the Best Western Education & Training Member Advisory Committee.

This learning series is a critical initiative and service for our members because the lessons learned will contribute to increased levels of satisfaction for our customers and professional success for our owners and managers, said John Hogan, Director of Education and Cultural Diversity. It will be an important component of measuring success and customer loyalty when members and staff work together to address short and long term needs.

The Best Western Certified Manager Program enhances the company`s other existing educational offerings including Certified Hotel Owner, Certified Hotel Administrator, Certified Hotel Sales Professional, Certified Hospitality Supervisor and Certified Hospitality Department Trainer. Additionally, a series of shorter programs are offered throughout North America on the topics of customer service, sales and general operations.

Best Western International is THE WORLD`S LARGEST HOTEL CHAIN(r) with more than 4,100 hotels in 79 countries and territories. It is a membership association of independently owned and operated hotels that provides marketing, reservations and operational support to its members.
