The annual General Managers` Conference of Dusit Hotels & Resorts was held recently (Mar 30-31) at The Dusit Thani Hotel, Bangkok.
At the meeting, Mr. Chanin Donavanik, Executive Director of Dusit Group, outlined new projects and developments for Dusit, Thailand`s oldest hotel chain. In addition to the soon-to-open (June `05) Dusit brand extension, D2hotel chiang mai, plans are also being finalized for a boutique hotel brand in Koh Samui. Expansion is also projected throughout Southeast Asia, although this is still on the drawing board stage.
Mr Chanin also mentioned the setting up of a Dusit development office, and other projects, in Dubai in the near future, a continuous and total upgrading of IT system in all Dusit and Royal Princess properties, the Dusit conference center in Hua Hin that will bring in a 25 % increase in the MICE market for the Western Seaboard, and the launch of the Dusit Executive Development Center (DEDC), situated on Silom Road.
The DEDC has been set up as a subsidiary under the Dusit Group of companies in order to handle the training needs of the Group and the public. It is an essential aspect that he Group, in its efforts to improve the quality of staff, particularly at middle and senior levels, employs DEDC`s expertise in the hotel business through its training courses, which are also available for the public, explained Mr Chanin
The two-day conference also provided a good opportunity for the general managers from all Dusit Hotels & Resorts and Royal Princess Hotels & Resorts in Thailand and overseas to once again meet and exchange ideas. As expected, it was the perfect occasion for a friendly, highly informative and successful get-together for everyone concerned.
