HISTORIC HOTELS OF EUROPE has honoured the best among its members with the "Awards 2013"

During its General Assembly’s recent meeting at the Barberstown Castle near Dublin, in Ireland, the association HISTORIC HOTELS OF EUROPE honoured its best members with the «Awards 2013», according to 10 different categories.

HISTORIC HOTELS OF EUROPE was created in 1997. It gathers 650 charming hotels, mostly owner-managed, located in 22 countries. Once beautiful castles, abbeys and historical dwellings, these hotels stand for a much valued heritage from the past.

Their comfort, environment, gastronomy and amenities meet ideally with the expectations of today‘s traveller.

The winners are:

Best Countryside Historic Hotel of Europe: The York Arms
A XVIIIth century former coaching house and shooting lodge. Frances Atkins, the Michelin starred Head Chef, manages this stunning inn overlooking the village green.

Best Historic Hotel of Europe with a mountain view: Bergschlossl
Situated within 100 kilometers from Innsbruck, this charming hotel proposes 11 rooms and suites enjoying a panoramic view of the Arlberg mountains in Austrian Tirol. The Moosbrugger family personally welcomes their guests according to the typically Tirolian tradition.
