InterContinental Hotels Group announced that the new 125-room Holiday Inn Express Midtown-Fifth Avenue recently opened, representing another addition to the mid-scale brand`s portfolio of limited-service hotels and its further expansion into U.S. urban markets.



This project marks the Holiday Inn Express brand`s first foray into the largest metropolitan area in the U.S, New York City. The new hotel reflects an increasing demand for new mid-tier hotels in large urban markets or large cities, and the brand`s development strategy to increase its presence in urban markets it does not currently serve.



There are nearly 25 Holiday Inn Express hotels with more than 2,000 guestrooms in the state of New York with the addition of the Holiday Inn Express Midtown-Fifth Avenue. The InterContinental Hotels Group portfolio in New York is represented by six of its brands, including the upper-upscale, upscale, full service, limited service, upscale extended stay and mid-scale extended stay segments with 80 hotels and nearly 15,000 rooms.



Holiday Inn Express is designed to be the smart choice for value-conscious travelers. The Holiday Inn Express system includes more than 1,400 hotels located primarily in roadside and suburban locations. The Holiday Inn Express Midtown-Fifth Avenue boasts modern decor throughout the lobby and guestrooms with deep mahogany accents and offers a variety of other amenities such as a business center, 24-hour front desk, express checkout, in-room video checkout, same day laundry and valet and currency exchange.
