Mandarin Oriental, Sanya announced that Michelin star chef Igor Macchia from La Credenza Restaurant, Piedmont, Italy, will be appearing at the resort from 1 October to 8 October 2010. During his exclusive 8 day spell at Pavilion Restaurant Chef Macchia invites connoisseurs on an epicurean journey of unique flavours and imaginative dishes.
Fond of travelling and relishing the opportunity to blend different cultural elements into his repertoire, this year Chef Macchia has decided to bring his exceptional flavours to discerning guests enjoying the resort during the Chinese National Day holiday.
Creating a distinctive and contemporary form of Italian cooking, Chef Macchia transforms products, flavours and methods by the science applied to gastronomy, resulting in a compelling cuisine that has a strikingly modern identity, but which still retains a classical Italian spirit. Some of the eclectic highlights Chef Macchia will be showcasing during his time at the luxury resort include Coffee Marinated Lamb and Agnolotti with Hazelnut Oil and Grana Padano Cheese.

For a sublime dining experience, guests can sample Chef Macchia’s own distinctive menus, which can also be paired with his recommended choice of wine for each course. Additionally, guests are invited to attend cooking classes from the Michelin honoured chef where he promises to divulge some of his culinary secrets.
