Park Hotel Orchard to be rebranded Grand Park Orchard after major renovation

Hospitality chain Park Hotel Group announced that Park Hotel Orchard, on Singapore’s famous shopping thoroughfare, will be rebranded as Grand Park Orchard after a major renovation due to begin in April 2009.

Park Hotel Orchard closed from 1 April onwards to facilitate the renovations. When it reopens as Grand Park Orchard in the second quarter of 2010, the five-star property will become the flagship hotel of the fast growing hospitality chain. Grand Park Orchard will feature 309 luxurious rooms and suites, including our Designer Suite series, as well as a stunning new addition – a four-storey retail podium.

The 83,000 sq ft retail podium will house flagship stores of international brands, with unique street-front entrances, bringing a new level of sophistication not seen on Orchard Road. The double-volume facade frontages will allow international retailers to showcase their full brand labels in a unique setting, bringing them closer to shoppers, at a strategic location in the heart of Orchard Road.

“The new Grand Park Orchard will be an iconic landmark on Orchard Road,” said Mr Allen Law, Director of Park Hotel Group. “We will transform the existing hotel into a fashionable icon by dressing it up with a dramatic new facade and at the same time featuring a media wall of unparalleled scale in the region.”

Like its scene-stopper media wall, the breathtaking herringbone-designed exterior glass facade will redefine Orchard Road’s skyline. The stylishly furnished main hotel lobby on Level 4 exudes elegance, a glimpse into a brand new experience awaiting guests at Grand Park Orchard. Cool and chic, it is set to become a place to be seen.

The lobby also features a stunning infinity pool with a sky bar. The gorgeous views of vibrant Orchard Road below can only be rivalled by the views of the sky above the pool. A trendy international restaurant and a metropolitan bar on the same level provide what could possibly be the best views of Orchard Road.

The guest rooms, occupying Levels 5-11, will undergo renovation and will feature luxurious furnishing and comfort, whilst equipped with state-of-the-art technology in meeting the needs and wants of today’s travellers.

The completion of Grand Park Orchard will heighten the Group’s profile as a premier hospitality chain in the Asia-Pacific region. This is a significant milestone in its expansion strategy, whose portfolio has grown to include 8 properties within the last few years. “As our flagship hotel, Grand Park Orchard will showcase our expertise in developing innovative products. It also represents our continuous commitment in delivering quality service to the discerning traveller,” said Mr Law.
