Park Inn, the fresh and energetic mid-market hotel brand of Rezidor SAS Hospitality, has strengthened its hold as one of the fastest growing mid-market sector hotel brands in Europe by signing a multiple franchise agreement for a portfolio of seven hotels in Germany. Up to the end of 2004 the hotels were operated under a Holiday Inn franchise and will now be converted and branded under the Park Inn brand with immediate effect.
Kurt Ritter, President and CEO, Rezidor SAS Hospitality, said: “I am very excited about the continued rapid growth of the Park Inn brand in Germany following the success of Radisson SAS. Park Inn is aiming to become one of Europe’s leading mid-market hotel brands, with 150 hotels in operation and under construction by 2007.”
The following hotels are operating under the Park Inn brand as of January 1st 2005:
Park Inn Bochum: 162-room hotel located directly opposite the main railway station in the city centre, with 900 sq m of conference space.
Park Inn Dortmund – City Centre: 125-room hotel with 650 sq m of meeting space situated in the city centre.
Park Inn Dusseldorf / Kaarst: 192-room hotel with 1,400 sq m of meeting space situated in the outskirts of Dusseldorf with superior traffic connections.
Park Inn Hanover: 150-room hotel located on the northern fringe of Hanover, approximately 15 minutes from the city centre and fairgrounds and thus from the Radisson SAS Hotel Hanover, with excellent motorway connections. The hotel has 750 sq m of conference space.
Park Inn Kamen / Unna: 94-rooms and 1,000 sq m of meeting space situated near one of North Rhine-Westphalia’s most important traffic junctions.
Park Inn Cologne – Belfortstrasse: 120-room hotel with 450 sq m of conference space and a new conference centre under construction, located in the Rhine quarter just a few minutes from the historic centre.
Park Inn Cologne City – West: 205-room hotel situated in the inner city area on the west bank of the Rhine River, with 600 sq m of conference area. The newly opened Radisson SAS Cologne is located on the east bank of the river, opposite the fairgrounds.
Park Inn will challenge the mid-market hotel segment with its unique offer, contemporary brand concept, ambitious growth plans and efficient hotel conversions. Since 2002, when Rezidor SAS secured the master franchise agreement from US basedCarlson Hotels Worldwide to operate Park Inn in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, 42 Park Inn hotels have opened including the UK flagship property at Heathrow.
