Hewitt Associates has named Singapore Marriott Hotel as Singapore’s best employer for the second year in a row according to the Hewitt Best Employers in Singapore 2009 study. This study identifies what it is that makes organizations Best Employers. More than 50 organizations registered to participate in the 2009 study with input from more than 10,000 employees that represented more than 50,000 people. The year’s participants represented 10 different industry classifications, the largest being Hospitality/Restaurants, which accounted for 35%. Amidst a stellar representation of companies, Singapore Marriott emerged tops, being one of only two hotels awarded the accolade.
The study revealed an insight that Hewitt Best Employers build cultures that increase productivity. This is clearly evident at the Singapore Marriott where the Sales and Marketing Team was recently named the Regional Sales & Marketing Team of the Year for their outstanding sales performance at Marriott International’s 2008 Global Leadership Asia Pacific Regional and Global Awards. A special achievement award also went to the Hotel’s Revenue Management Team.

Mr. Tang personally conceptualized and led the $1 million project of reinventing the staff restaurant, recreation and rest areas of our hotel.”
