WoodSpring Suites expands footprint in the state of Texas

WoodSpring Hotels, which experienced record growth in 2014, is focused on strategic expansion across the U.S. through corporate- and franchise-owned development.

WICHITA, KAN. – WoodSpring Hotels, the nation’s fastest growing, extended-stay hotel company, announced an agreement with New Era, LLC, to build three WoodSpring Suites hotels in the city of San Antonio. The first of the three will be located in the Northwest side of San Antonio and is expected to start construction in 1Q 2016. A site for the second property also has been identified and will be located in the north side of the city with a TBD construction start date.

“With its numerous corporate headquarters and office parks, San Antonio is a great market for the extended-stay guest looking for a good value. Partnering with New Era will help us meet the demand in this area and expand our WoodSpring Suites brand into another large metropolitan area,” said Ron Burgett, executive vice president of franchise development for WoodSpring Hotels. “These new hotels will bring our San Antonio portfolio to six hotels with 38 overall in Texas. Not only does this give WoodSpring invaluable market insight, but it also allows for shared economies of scale, all to the benefit of both owners and guests.”

Once completed, the hotel will feature many guest amenities, such as in-room kitchens, free high-speed internet, guest laundry and the 99-point cleaning process that the WoodSpring Suites brand provides to every guest.

WoodSpring Hotels, which experienced record growth in 2014, is focused on strategic expansion across the U.S. through corporate- and franchise-owned development. The company expects to break ground on more than 30 additional properties over the next six months and has nearly 15 hotels under development specifically in the state of Texas.
