Today, ECG has 45,000 holiday homes in over 440 destinations, and recorded over 700m euros revenues in 2023, following the successful integration of Vacanceselect.

European Camping Group (ECG), better known as Eurocamp, announces the appointment of Sébastien Manceau as Group CEO. Alain Calmé, Group CEO of ECG since September 2010, becomes Group Chairman and Philippe de Trémiolles, who has co-led the Group with Alain since 2010, will remain as Group MD and CFO.

As the European leader in outdoor accommodation, ECG continues to pursue its strategy of consistent profitable growth, having multiplied EBITDA x30 since 2007 to reach c. 200 million euros in 2023.

ECG intends to continue leveraging its leadership position in the European camping sector, growing both its international customer base (currently c. 50%) and its destination portfolio mainly via the acquisition of new holiday homes.

Camping and outdoor accommodation have enjoyed sustained growth supported by long-term positive trends, including growing customer adoption, an attractive value proposition, and its position as a high- quality, affordable and eco-friendly solution for family holidays in Europe. Whilst it remains fragmented, the sector has shown much resilience over past decades and has continued to perform strongly following the pandemic.

Alain Calmé, Group Chairman, commented: “I’m delighted that Sébastien has been appointed CEO and I’m very confident in his ability to lead ECG in this next phase of growth. It’s been an absolute privilege to lead ECG these past 14 years and I am thrilled that I will continue to support the Group in my new role as Chairman.

Sébastien Manceau, Group CEO, commented: “I am very committed to continuing Alain’s work and am excited at the opportunity to lead ECG in this new chapter. Despite knowing the Group for some years now, I have been particularly impressed by the quality of its teams since joining last year. I look forward to working with Philippe, and all at ECG as we capitalise on the tremendous opportunity ahead of us. As an industry leader, it is our duty to be visionary and to offer our customers rich, unforgettable experiences that respect our environment. It is our responsibility to preserve the splendour of the European regions in which we operate, and to minimise our environmental impact so that tomorrow we can continue to enjoy family holidays in wonderful locations.”

Philippe de Trémiolles, Group Managing Director and CFO, said: “I would like to thank Alain for these successful years of brainstorming and action together and I warmly welcome Sébastien. Changes such as this are always an opportunity to challenge and improve processes and perspectives, and I am very much looking forward to this.”

Bertrand Monier, Partner and Consumer Services Lead at PAI, commented: “We are very happy to appoint Sébastien as CEO of ECG. His deep industry experience and network in the tourism sector is particularly valuable to ECG as we continue to transform the Group and consolidate its leadership position. We are equally pleased that Alain will continue to contribute his unique expertise as Chairman of the Board, drawing on his highly successful track record in the sector.”

Having joined ECG in 2010, Alain Calmé has overseen the Group’s successful transformation from a primarily national mobile home-focused company to the undisputed European sector leader through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions.

Sébastien Manceau joined ECG last year as Deputy CEO responsible for Strategy and development of the Residential model. This followed 16 years at consulting firm Roland Berger, where he was Senior Partner in charge of Retail and Tourism and co-head of the Paris Office. In this prior role, Sébastien advised ECG on various assignments including its acquisition and integration of Vacanceselect.

Philippe de Trémiolles joined ECG in 2007 and has co-led the Group alongside Alain as Group MD and CFO, with a focus on like-for-like growth, M&A and strong relationships with ECG’s long-term banks and financing partners.
