Carrier continues to grow its presence in California, making it the go-to airline for travelers living on the West Coast.

SEATTLE – Alaska Airlines this week begins daily, nonstop service from San Jose, California to Austin, Texas, and Tucson, Arizona. With these new flights, Alaska serves more destinations from Mineta San Jose International Airport than any other airline by offering nonstop service to 18 destinations with a total of 31 daily departures.

"Alaska Airlines continues to meet the needs of Silicon Valley travelers with new daily, nonstop flights from our San Jose focus city to popular destinations like Austin and Tucson," said Annabel Chang, vice president, Alaska Airlines, Bay Area. "With the additional flights, Alaska and Virgin America will offer guests 131 daily nonstop flights to 42 destinations from the three major Bay Area airports by the end of the year."

"I am excited to welcome the new daily San Jose – Austin route launch by Alaska Airlines. This important business route will connect two major global tech hubs and will serve thousands of Silicon Valley residents and workers," said Assemblyman Marc Berman, District 24, Palo Alto.

These new flights build on previously announced routes that began March 20 and include daily flights from San Jose to Newark, New Jersey; three times daily flights from San Jose to Burbank, Calif.; as well as a four times daily service from San Jose to Los Angeles, which will begin on September 20.
