NTB: Transport blockade to Kathmandu called off

As per the joint press release issued today, Maoists‘ Joint District Committees of Makawanpur, Dhading, Nuwakot, Rasuwa and Sindhupalchowk have called off the indefinite transport blockade to Kathmandu

As per the joint press release issued today, Maoists‘ Joint District Committees of Makawanpur, Dhading, Nuwakot, Rasuwa and Sindhupalchowk have called off the indefinite transport blockade to Kathmandu effective from August 25, 2004.



According to a press release issued to Nepalese media jointly by the district committee of above said districts, the indefinite blockade to Kathmandu has been suspended for a month. The blockade has been called off at the request of civil society, human rights organisations, intellectuals and entrepreneurs, states the press release.



Even during the blockade, tourist vehicles had no problem in plying to the travel destinations in the country. The recent development is expected to carry more positive message to the potential visitors to Nepal.
