Over the last few months, Nepalese tourism industry has witnessed the healthy sign of recovery which has given positive message to international community that Nepal is on fast track in confidence building through Public Relations exercise and media`s unwavering support. However, some sporadic trivial blasts outside the vicinity of Soaltee Crowne Plaza Hotel taken place recently in Kathmandu have drawn serious attention of the tourism industry of Nepal. Whatever small in nature, such incidence may create temporary impact on tourists. However, the tourism history of Nepal proves that no untoward incidents have taken place aiming at the tourists. His Majesty`s Government has also assured the industry that it would not leave any stone unturned at this stage to provide appropriate security. In order to orchestrate the sentiment in reciprocation, the entrepreneurs have shown great enthusiasm to give the tourists best time in Nepal with all possible hospitality and humility.

All the tourism establishments are hence, running in complete normalcy.



Moreover, His Majesty`s Government has taken all precautions to protect hotels and other industrial establishments from any mishap giving special instruction to its all security agencies and zonal and district administrations to accord high priority to safety and security of people and their property.



The arrival statistics to Nepal exemplifies that despite some minor problems at home and their publicity outside, the potential visitors to this country have shown a firm belief that there is no direct hindrances specially for tourism activities in major tourist areas of Nepal. As a consequence, there is a 32% increase in the overall tourist up to the month of July, 2004 compared with corresponding month of previous year. Likewise, Indian tourist have also shown firm interest and visited this country marking 12% growth till the month of July, 2004 compared to same period of the previous year. Air Sahara has recently announced to start its maiden flight in Delhi-Kathmandu sector from September 1, 2004. All these facts speak volumes to acclaim that tourism is a bulwark of our economy and all the parties have given due respect to maintain its sanctity for sharing larger benefits mainly with the rural populace. Many tourists have been harbouring the wrong perception of this country prior to their visit, however, once after stepping in this soil, all those perceptions are transformed into a life time memory, may be because of people here in Nepal are renowned for their hospitality, friendliness and treating Guests as God.
