In the first semester of this year, spa centers operators from Romania announced developing 31 projects, 9 independent projects and 22 projects integrated in hotels and residential complexes, by six times more than compared to the last year, according to a monitoring report of construction market, IBC Focus.
Most Spa centers will open in the central area of the country, where 9 projects are to be developed, while for each of the Southern, North-Western and South-Eastern areas 4 projects were announced. Meanwhile, 3 projects were announced for each of the Western and North-Eastern area, according to IBC Focus. In Bucharest 3 Spa projects were announced, which currently under designing stage.
18 of the announced projects are valued at EUR 1 mil., the other requiring a budget of up to EUR 1 mil.
Mihai Popa, Operational Manager of World Class Health Academy JW Marriott, stated that Spa investments are preferred in 5 star hotels, benefiting of the hotel guests, but also of large spaces dedicated to these projects. At the same time, shopping malls provide generous spaces and count on Spa centers development.
In September, Eden Spa operator will open a Spa center in Cocor shopping center in Bucharest, on an area of 200 sq. m.
