AVIAREPS has a new client in Sweden and it is called Iceland Express. The airline representation now acts as General Sales Agent for the low-fare carrier and is responsible for all sales and marketing activities of the airline in this Scandinavian country. General Manager of AVIAREPS in Sweden is Johnny Gardsaeter.



Iceland Express was founded as the first low-fare carrier of Iceland and started flight operation in February 2003. The airline began with daily services to Reykjavik from London/Stansted and Copenhagen. Three weekly flights from Frankfurt/Hahn followed in May 2005.



In May 2006 Iceland Express will launch new connections from Friedrichshafen in Southwest Germany as well as from Berlin/Schoenefeld. In Sweden, two flights per week will be offered from Gothenburg and four services from Stockholm/Arlanda. Iceland Express operates a MD-80-only fleet with 162 seats each, in total carrying close to 300.000 passengers per year.
