The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in United Kingdom has stepped in to protect the customers booked with tour operator Masterplan Publishing Limited after the company ceased trading. Masterplan, which traded as  Mastersun and Masterski, was based in New Malden, Surrey, and operated package holidays to Greece, Turkey and a winter ski programme to France.

There are 150 holidaymakers currently abroad and more with forward bookings who have not yet travelled. The CAA, under its ATOL (Air Travel Organiser`s Licensing) scheme, is currently making arrangements for customers abroad to complete their holiday and return to the UK, and to refund those with forward bookings.

Masterplan held ATOL licence number 2741 and provided a £480,610 bond to the CAA, which will be used to rescue and reimburse those affected.
