Skiing holidays over the half-term week have always been expensive, but with the recession biting hard many families have looked for ways to salvage their annual ski trip this February. According to Ski Europe Online, the specialist European ski travel agency, this coming half-term British families are shunning the traditionally popular, but more expensive, French resorts and heading to Italy in search of a ski holiday bargain.
Comments Sammi Nisbet, Managing Director of Ski Europe Online: “We offer holidays to resorts in France, Austria, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Andorra, Spain, Slovenia, Lapland and Scotland, but, due to the recession this year, we’ve been inundated with enquiries about half-term ski holidays in Italy. Skiers need their snow fix and will always find a way to get it. This year heading to Italian ski resorts has been a sure fire way to cut costs – where lift-passes and apres activities are considerably cheaper than in traditional French resorts – and can work out around 50% cheaper for a family of four than an equivalent holiday in France.”
Ski Europe Online still has availability over the half-term break across all of Italy’s main resorts: Champoluc, Selva Val Gardena, Bardonecchia, Cervinia, Courmayeur, Passo Tonale, Sestriere and Saux d’Oulx.
