Kuoni makes its debut on Second Life

Kuoni has established a presence for itself on the Second Life internet platform. The venture into this virtual world, which goes by the name of INOUK, is an experiment to gather information that could be used in future projects and acquire experience in new communications channels. The inaugural party on the computer-animated INOUK island will be held on Thursday, April 10.

The choice of name is an appropriate one: INOUK is KUONI spelt backwards, and the new INOUK island holds up a mirror to society in this virtual world. The island offers its visitors several interactive features. A 3D-globe provides useful travel information for various destinations, to which the visitor can also be teleported directly from INOUK if they wish.

Visitors also receive a “Travel Book” with a host of valuable tips which they can take with them wherever they go. And with “The Labyrinth” and “Snowball Battle”, INOUK further offers its visitors two enjoyable games.

INOUK has been created over the past few months by Kuoni employees, members of the Second Life community and IT company Crealogix.

“INOUK is an experiment for us,” explains Bojan Jokic, CIO for the Kuoni Group. “We want to explore, research and better understand the ways these virtual communities communicate; and we want to gather as much experience as possible here which we can feed into future Kuoni projects.”

Second Life’s INOUK island will be formally opened at 20:00 Central European Summer Time (UTC+2) on Thursday, April 10, in the course of an inaugural party.
