Caravan & Holiday Meet 2011

New camping exhibition reflects lifestyle changes

In 2011, the Swedish Exhibition & Conference Centre will host a completely new event for the growing number of tourists with mobile accommodation. The Caravan & Holiday Meet focuses on destinations, activities and future camping trends.

The first Caravan & Holiday Meet will be held on 29 April–1 May 2011 at the Swedish Exhibition & Conference Centre in Goteborg, and at the neighbouring Liseberg Amusement Park. “We are targeting a broad group of consumers who are interested in finding out more about mobile accommodation, no matter whether they already have it or are considering buying a motorhome or caravan,” says Johan F Lundberg, Business Manager at the Swedish Exhibition & Conference Centre.

In addition to motorhomes and caravans, the exhibition will feature tow cars and motorhome rentals. But the emphasis is on actual lifestyle aspects. Major exhibitors include holiday destinations and tourist and Swedish and European resort facilities. Other activities covered are golf, hunting, fishing, open air recreation, barbecue equipment, cooking and dancing.

“Boat owners and golfers represent a large portion of growth in the camping sector, with motorhomes especially on the rise. Motorhomes are also very popular with Swedish dance enthusiasts,” says Lars-Erik Hormander, the industry consultant who formulated the concept for the new exhibition.
